SPEC.CHECKTM For First Article Inspection
CGI's Spec.Check inspection software, for use with any digitizing system, is designed for first article inspection or mold qualification and can save users time in performing dimension measurements - up to 75 percent, according to the developer. The software is especially suited for medical device OEMs seeking improvements in the 3-D measurement of complex injection molded medical device parts. In one instance, a medical device company needed to measure a multi-cavity mold with 93 dimensions per cavity -- normally an 80-hour task. With Spec.Check, the job was completed in less than six hours..
Our Windows® based Spec.Check software measures parts from multi-cavity molds up to five times faster than CMM and vision system technologies. The cloud of 3-D points is automatically registered to a virtual X, Y, Z fixture. The operator uses the cursor to cut cross sections through the points to create 2-D views. Probe boxes are used to measure lines, arcs, diameters, angles, and virtual angles. Measurements using centerlines and intersecting lines can easily be made. The easy to use and learn software prints Pass/Fail reports in PPAP/SPC format. Spec.Check's best feature is template creation: Measure one part; file that part as a template; read the points from the subsequent cavities along with the template, and the measurements are done automatically on those additional parts.
CGI Spec.CheckTM software creates a template for the first part, meaning once a template is made all you have to do is pull it up for the remaining parts. Spec.Check automatically dimensions subsequent parts so the steps don't have to be repeated. The user can click on a cross section, just like on a digital 2-D system, and can measure that section's dimensions. Spec.Check also has a copy - and - paste function that automates the measurement of similar cross-sectional geometry. The easy-to-use software processes an average of 1 million points per second. It is supported in both Windows XP and 2000 environments and takes standard ASCII point cloud data input. Spec.CheckTM is included with the Pearl 700, CSS-300 and CSS-1000 systems. However, it can be purchased separately and used in conjunction with other digitized data files. Click here to view sample images of our Inspection Reports or contact CGI for details at 800-207-4318.
