For Inspection of Complex Injection Molded Parts

The Latest in QA Measurement Inspection
The CSS-300 inspection system and Spec.Check™ software significantly reduces the time and expense currently spent in digitizing, measuring and qualifying first article parts from single and multi-cavity tools. Well suited for Medical Device OEM's, this system will provide complete measured results, often the same day instead of weeks that other processes currently require.

The Tool: Cross Sectional Scanning

The metrology process starts by encasing the part in CGI's Encase-it material which covers and fills the part. Once filled and pressure vacuumed, the part is placed into the CSS-300 System. User friendly scanning defines the scan window, starting height, and slice thickness. The rest is automatic - the system runs unattended. The System combines the latest digital CCD technology with the latest in machining center capabilities. An ultra thin layer of the encased part is machined and the CCD camera snaps an image of that layer. The scanning software automatically converts the digital bitmap image to edge detected points as the part is being scanned. In just two to three hours the point geometry is digitized and the part image is ready to be measured.
